Anyone Know Anything About This Reel???

Last year an old pal gave me this old and somewhat homemade looking reel.
Engraved on it is: Charlie Lock then under that is: Victoria, BC

It's aluminum I think and the pawl mechanism inside looks hand hammered to my eyes.
Single action with a wing nut/set screw set-up as the drag and it has a clicker off or on switch too.
Curious if any of you know a Charlie Lock from the Victoria area or anything about this reel.

Thanks.

Take care.

Very cool... I like to fish with retro gear.. Is it still operational?.. I know nothing about but think that is pretty dam Cool.

Still useable I suppose but pretty primitive. LOL

Don't think I'd want my yet to be caught Tyee on it, that's for sure.

Take care.

Those old single action knuckle busters are fantastic for big fish. The trick is to figure out a quick-release drag system so it'll work in a downrigger (hold your line tight but let the fish run on a take-down) . I have buckets full of Shimanos and Penns but these are the only reels I use on the saltwater---they have a pawl clicker that's LOUD--- really gets the blood flowing when you hear it roar behind a big spring peeling off line!
