went fishing a couple of days ago.Saw a large amounts of fish on the finder.Not a bump,fished from the botttom to the top.there were two poles fishing.Tried herring ,hootchies, spoons, nothing,tides were good. put in about 12 hrs.any clues,It's been slow for us for awhile now.We are targeting springs .

Join the crowd, slow as mollasses here too...
I doubt you're doing anything wrong, just not so many Springs around.

I think dogfish mark on the sounder but they tend to be weak returns (i.e no defined arch or intense colour) and I think they tend to show as a weak wavy line...
 
I've seen a few nice springs taken lately.Green flashers,green and white hoochies with anchovies,at thirty five feet.Lots of coho for every spring taken though.
All the rain has muddied the water the last few days so maybe that'll change when the water clears.

I forgot to mention a speed of around 2.1 on the trolling motor

Where are you seeing the Coho? I haven't seen a Coho in the Schooner Cove area in three years:(

sounds like you found some sockeye...... I ran past swiftsure, 2 weeks ago..... millions of fish jumping.... thought they might be a couple silvers in there.... nothing would bite ....... so put it back in gear and went to ucluelet
 
No guys i was fishing off orcas.The dogs were gone, just a lot of springs.It's not an area where you would catch a coho.Just wondering on leader lengh.i will try again,out smarted by a fish.lol
