I know the topics been beat to death but i have been looking a bit lately and the prices arent much different than up here in washington. Do you have to go oregan/cali before you get the deals? I have been looking on craigslist in washington and there is not much in the 18-20foot range except aluminum. Any ideas ??

Hi Kelly

Even with exchange, GST, import fees, I figure I saved about 20-30% on my recent purchase. I found prices in Wash/Oregon generally about 20% cheaper than BC, and up to 40% cheaper on Eastern Seaboard.

Keep an eye on those ads...the good ones go fast. The interesting thing about craigslist, usedvictoria, or other online sites where ads are removed once sold, is they show what things AREN'T selling for. Good ones are gone in a few days, leaving only the ones that don't sell -- priced too high or not what people want.

If you are looking in Florida, how much would shipping be,say for a 23' and who do you ship with? I don't want to high jack this thread, but this would be part of the formula for getting a boat here.

I got mine out of florida. I put the shipping job up for bids on uship.com. It works like ebay (with feedback ratings etc...). I got mine here for about 4000$. The winning bidder got the job for 3500usd. The extra 500$ was misc costs like flat tires etc..

You should keep your eye on California too.

Their housing prices have dropped 28% and there are a lot of people having financial pressures. In addition, their Salmon fishery is DOA this year and maybe next.

Could be some good deals there in the near future as things go in the dumper.

Also, I hear that houses are going for $600 and up - in Detroit.

Campion boats (Kelowna) goes down the eastern seaboard to their dealers quite often and will bring boats and trailers back on a proper boat hauler. Brought my 25ft Wellcraft back all the way to Port Boat House (port albenri for $3200.00 all in two years ago...I have contact info for the folks at campion if anyone is interested

Another big fan of Uship here. I brought a Grady 22' up from Florida for $2800 in the fall. Very worth looking down south...
