Aluminum boat repair / corrosion

I have an aluminum boat that I need some work done on and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations?

My gas tank had some welded on brackets to secure it to the boat and both the welds at the front part of the tank have broken. It seems like it was a bad welding job or just a bad design.

I also have some corrosion under the floorboards from what I believe may have been treated plywood that was used for the flooring which I have learned is definitely a bad thing when it comes to aluminum boats. I am hoping to find someone that has good experience with that to be able to look at it and be able to correct the issue. I am working on new floorboards already.

Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you!

i know a dude in north van who does excellent work. express custom/riptide marine over in parksville does decent work as well.

Bad design on the fuel tank tabs. Think about the mass and physics involved with fuel moving while under way, or more importantly when you tow your boat starting and stopping or hitting a pot hole

Pressure treated wood bleeds copper. Copper is bad for aluminum, same reason why copper bottom paint isn't used

Thanks. That would make it easier if I mentioned the location. I am in Steveston.
Go to the Steveston Harbour Authority site on Trites, lots of boat repair and fab shops for metal, glass etc. Bishops can do it, northwest corner, he builds commercial boats from scratch and does repairs too. Plus another guy I was told about is also there in the south east corner of the Trites work area, he does pods, arches, repairs etc, older guy but good sense of humour.

Thanks for all of the recommendations everyone. I will talk with a few of them.

The fuel tank tabs were definitely a bad design.

If you are well-equipped with top-quality products, fixing aluminium crafts will come easily. Your boat can be dented inward by the force of a collision, or you can pound it or the hill-like shape with a hammer. By straightening and pounding the hull, it flattens out. To return to its former shape, the damaged aluminium surface must expand.

If your fitting new plywood floors seal them w/epoxy top/bottom/edges before fastening them .
