Hey guys,...Well I didn't think I was going to get any holidays this summer but guess what...I'm coming your way!!! I would like to ask a favour though. I am bringing the wife and dog, and it has been a very long time since we have been to Vancouver/Vancouver Island together. Can you guys and gals suggest some good campgrounds, fun things to do and of course I would like to charter for a couple of days if the fishing is any good.

My brother was on V.I. last week and loved the sights, however he said the fishing was the $hits...has it improved at all???

I would like to hit the Vancouver aquarium for sure and with your suggestions spend some money doing other fun tourist things...

We are leaving this Friday from Edmonton and have a truck camper on the back of the truck...diesel is going to cost a small fortune I bet.

Thanks for the help gang!! Fire me an email if you have a good link or if you guide in the area and have some room for my crew (My wife and I and if you take small dogs...don't worry he won't poop on your boat)

Oh yeah I forgot to mention,...we would like to be able to pkg, freeze and ship our fresh caught fish/crabs back home right away so they will be there when we return...Any info on this would be fantastic!!!

Thanks again

Tofinos nice. Good fishing, beach to surf play for kids, towns cool lots to see for wife. Whale watching ect still rugged area

Whatever you happen to catch while your here, St.Jeans cannery processes, packages and ship to the destination of your choice. By the way if you don't find anyone to take you fishing if your in Nanaimo, I might be willing to take you out for a couple of hours of sight seeing around Nanaimo. Or I could make some suggestions. Email addy is in my profile.

You won't have to worry about fishing by summer as long as restrictions aren't in place. For the real west coast experience, Port Renfrew, Ucluelet, Gold River would be best bet. If you like the wilderness, I'd suggest Gold River over Tofino area - little too touristy in Tofino, but if u don't mind that, one of the nicest areas on the island. Also Parksville as well - great for camping...miles of beaches - Rathtrevor good to camp at - not a fishing hotspot thou, but a good in between. If you want to be the tourist in Victoria, Sooke will also have good fishing - just west - several guides here I'm sure would gladly take you out - I'd recommend who I'd consider the best, but wouldn't want to call them out here..hehe

Just remember, if you fish west coast..big swells, not friendly for weak stomachs...if that isn't your scene, I'd go either Victoria or Malcolm Island/Port Hardy - sorry CR, for a tourist, I think fishing there would kinda suck - not fun fishing so deep and it just isn't what it used to be up there.

That's my take - feel free to email if u want about specifics.

Thanks,...I have fished allot up in Rupert and Kitimat so the sea doesn't scare me,...however my wife had some issues when I took her fishing in Cuba. I think it was the diesel fumes though...they burn pretty dirtly fuel down there. Send me an email with some great guides...I have a couple saved from when I was asking for my brother who was there last week...Thanks again..

Hey thanks for all the emails!!! I will be sure to print all your info off and take it with me. It would be nice to meet, greet and fish with some of you on our trip...Thanks again!!!

Thanks Mike,..I sent you an email to your work account...It will be good to chat again...How is the big boat holding up...gas is on me if you can get out for a day or two...Even if we don't catch anything it would be nice to get a tour around on the nice new rig of yours!!! Give me a call if you still have my cell #...Kris
