Thanks.. Yes I go have GPS and VHF but no radar. It sounds like a good idea to run with a buddy so maybe I will connect with an experienced skipper to follow the first time. Shouldn't be that hard to find a running partner that time of year, sounds like lots of boats doing it. I have 25 years experience in the Ocean including lots of Tuna trips out 50+ miles but usually in my big boat
(Orca 24).

If youv'e done that tour you'll be just fine. You should se some of the Ort AAlberni chit machines that come down there!!!

Take heed to the advice given, leave at the proper hour and she'll be good.

My wife used to start crying at Clutesi if we were in the water later than 10am when we used to do it in our 17 footer...

Radar = good!

Gimee the gaff!!!

Thanks. For a while there I was thinking I was either going to run out of gas, hit a log, get run over in the fog, ram my boat into the dock in a whitewater river, stuff by bow into a wave, hit a log boom, get lost, or maybe start crying. This sounds like the wild west, wait a minute... it is! Sounds like a relaxing trip (LOL). See you boys out there! Thanks for the great advice, now I know what to expect.

LMFAO! [8D]

That's awesome!

If you are new to the area, something else you should be aware of is Lucky Lager. Having some in your cooler is a good idea, and if you run out they sell it in the Bamfield general store.

Enjoy your trip.
