Boys and girls-have fun out there but get the sunscreen on-not preaching but I'm payin the price of fishing all over the world in the sun!! Don't think the problem was down south-you cover up instinctively but rather off the coast here we welcome the sun and it feels good in the cold!!
Still deadly!! Looking for a Mexican bandito neck and face cover-anyone know where to get them here?

Look on Amazon for SunGuard UPF 50+ Performance Headband Face Mask Tube Head Neck Gator UV Sun Protection Aqua Design Multifunctional Camo Headwear. You'll look like a saltwater fishing "pro" from those TV shows.

That's what I'm going to have to wear-not looking forward to all the Kibbitzing but better than giving up fishing!!

You've got me thinking too. I'm not a big fan of putting on lots of sunscreen but I do wear long sleeves nearly all the time and tend to keep myself in the shade of the cabin between fighting fish. Still, I'm not getting any younger and the skin has probably had more sun exposure than it should have.

I hear ya SF been to the doc many times myself not fun. Going to order a multi purpose Hoo Rag for myself, with that and long sleeve shirts only my hands will be exposed

I went under the knife last year (Mohs Procedure for basal "C" on my nose)---definitely opened my eyes to the downside of fun in the sun

Last summer I wore a PF50 big-brimmed straw hat (the type gardeners use)---I know I looked like an idiot but you do what you gotta do

My favorite moment-- I asked the doctor ---..."so what do I have to do--- stay in the basement and count the mushrooms?...."

His response:

..."No, just camp out half-way down the basement stairs....."

Fact" sunscreen DOES NOT keep out the cancer and wrinkle causing rays. It only stops the top skin layer from burning.

I wear fingerless SPF gloves, would rather have a few twits chuckle at me than undergo treatment for skin cancer.
I also wear long sleeve SPF shirts, with the collar up, and a big sexy hat. At least I keep telling people that it is a sexy hat lol

Well got a few Hoo Rags-coming. Mexican guides are all wearing them-as kind of a fashion statement. Got a few fashion statements of my own coming!!A little more "Bling" for me on the boat. That was for Bod and the Fog Ducker. LOL

These guys do a lot of good stuff for sun protection from shirts, hats and the "masks".

I used to never wear sunscreen......I am now religious about it and push others out on the water with me to put it on. 30 goes on my face/ears/neck with a higher end screen and then Coppertone spray on legs, arms etc.

I have burned myself too many times in the past and had a good buddy have to deal with a bit of skin cancer or the early stages; was a BIG wake up call for me.

I may even have to get me one of these!!!

Wimps. You wont see me out there looking like a bank robber. Lol. Nice tanned face looks good for the ladies...:p

I ordered them from Hoo Rag. Got one called Buff from Valhalla here and tried it-22.95-thought it was great actually-pretty comfortable-might even be super off-shore especially in the early mornings. Pelagic, aftco make them as well. It was just easier to deal with Hoo Rag and besides if you have to wear one might as well make a fashion statement. Gotta have the "bling"-if they'd had one with LED's I would have got it!!LOL

You're right there Dennis-did it for a lot more years than I care to remember but sadly the big slathers of white cream and red blotches doesn't cut it with them anymore. They're so fickle!!LOL The mysterious Bandito look is going to have to be the draw now.

hey fever
hows the breathing with one of those on does it get sweaty and moist underneath?

Well I bought a BuFF from Valhalla in town to try it and I was quite surprised-felt pretty good. So ordered a few statement ones from Hoo Rag. I think they will be great WCVI in the morning-I don't know on a hot day-going to find out-as for drinking wobbly pops-an enema hose under the Hoo Rag should add a bit of Cache-don't ya think?
