Abbotsford Sportsman show

Going in on Saturday, looking forward to it. Are the deals at the show really that good? I want to buy new rod and reel so am wondering if the deals are usually that good?

From my POV it's a big waste of time-the first place they nail you is almost $10 to park in a field and it goes downhill from there.

My experience has been that it's an opportunity for retailers to dump a lot of old stock on unsuspecting customers-all the same deals on offer @ the show can be had in any store just for asking.

Always liked going on the Sun afternoon. the venders are more laxed & the crowd seem to thin quickly and enjoy the show in more detail

Plus the kids have the NIK fish pool to themselves & they slay the farm fed bows that make great early crab harvest bait!!!

I was there today, all around I was pretty disappointed, not much in the way of gear or boats. Lots of lodges trying to get bookings.

I still don't know why they would let somebody have a stand to sell canned garlic and carrots, seems that would have been better suited to a farmers market

I was there yesterday also - enjoyed the show and found a couple of reasonable deals on gear.

The vegetable stand was one thing - but the lonliest booth had to be the Canada Revenue one. No one wanted to go near them.

Went Saturday, enjoyed it, but it was certainly crowded. Had to park in the grass and mud but.... Met a lot of nice people, found a deal on a rod, but was more of a looker. Surprised how prices could be so different on gear from one dealer to another. Overall though a good afternoon with my grand daughter in tow. :)
