A Day in Port alberni? Best plan for a day?

I'm off to Port alberni for the sockeye next week, now that they are here and the limit is 4! I'm wondering where is the best place to launch for the socks as i don't want to tow on a dirt road with a new boat. I've heard to launch at Clutesi, how far is this from where the socks are? As well I would like to fish for some springs and maybe coho at the same time either before or after we've picked up our socks for the day. Where should we head for the springs and is it much of a boat ride? I appreciate all the help!

the best launch is clutesi sockeye are about 15 min. away look for boat coming out of china creek marina and watch were they are going for sockeye .the spring are more on the out side about 1 hr. pill a good place to start good luck

Is it really that bad in the river or is it well marked? Anybody offer up any good spots to try for the sock and springs?
