Just wondered everyone's thoughts on the new coyote 6.0 live image spoon,I have done really well on the ECVI on the live image spoons in 4.0 size. Just watched an episode of westcoast sporting journal and Mr P, we will call him, says that if he could only have one spoon to fish with this would be it. I tried to find a picture of it on the web but they were all to small. Just curious if you fishermen on the west side of the island really find it that good ? Mr P landed and released quite a few chinook during the episode with it even a TYEE

I love them! I have fished them all year caught all my big springs on it and I only fish ECVI. When I got them I thought it might be too big for inside but its done the trick. I have 3 of them, a Silver and one green stripe and one blue stripe. I didn't change the hooks yet and don't plan on it. No need to say it but its been my favorite this year. I cant speak for everyone else but I like it and have done good on it.

The green and blue live image coyotes in 3.5 and 4.0 are on sale at Cabelas.com - about $4 a spoon. Shipping to Canada is costly but if you have an American address or use Ship Happens or similar, quite a bit cheaper than you can get around here.

I have had good luck on them in any color, last time i was out front of Nanaimo the blue one in 4.0 was out-fishing my anchovy 2-1, pretty excited to get back out there..

I agree that for ECVI, the common doctrine over the last couple of years has been to go with smaller lures ( 2 1/2 inch to 4 inch) as the bait is generally smaller on this side than WCVI.

And it works, a lot of times.

That said, this year, big spoons ( Coyote 6.0 or spoons that measure 4 and 5/8ths inches long or 5 inches) have been doing some damage when fished in places where you can see the bait is relatively small.

The Coyote Cop car in 6.0 has been pretty good. (The 6.0 is not really 6 inches ...it is 4 and 5/8ths inches long).

Really impressed with these spoons.. all three are a killer... have you seen the episode on the westcoast sporting journal, with Mark P. good stuff he suggests swaping to smaller 3/0 gammys to do less damage to released fish... , in other news i just found a 70 horse evinrude complete and running for 600 bucks.. my dream of being back on the water before too long might become a reality.. finger crossed..either that or i am stating a complete johnson/evinrude 70 horse graveyard/parts depot..

I fish them fairly frequently (the 6.0), and haven't caught a ton of fish...but when i do it's almost always been a big spring. 3 x 20+ springs and 1 x very brave pink. :)

good spoon!!!!

Just got back from 37 straight hard fishing days in knootka sound... Used the 6 in spoon thats in that package and caught two of my biggest on them,my bud at mootcha bay recommended them and yes they work !!!! good luck everybody the thing I was told is he had to get a full run of them for the lodge because they didn't make the silver color any more so I picked up a few.Good success fished by itself nice to get rid or the flasher...

I hear you on getting rid of the flasher--and I must have over 50 of them--it's just so much fun with spoons alone. The head shakes and runs & sometimes jumps--are just great fun. I just got back from Critter & got my 4 springs (not too big this year) all on spoons back 20-30' from the clip @ 50'. I was by myself this year--and lucked out with 4 for 4; but must admit I looked like a one man chinese fire drill with the net a time or two. Great fun!
