Hi all, coming up on Sunday for a 3 day fish. Just looking at the wind forecast and it's looking a touch hairy (especially Mon/Tues) am I overthinking this? In a 24' Trophy.

What are the good opportunities for getting out of the wind if need be?

Can be good in the morning the wind and blow in the afternoon so may change. A lot of times it’s like that.

No, you are not overthinking this.
I'm heading to Winter Harbour on Sunday and watching the same forecasts.
It's a NW, so at least you are with it on the way back to PH.
Pick your windows and keep weather aware.

Will be rough those two days for sure. Castle can be protected

The wind forecast always a bit hairy. We were up a couple weeks back and forecast was the same but turned out better then expected like last year. The morning window was great and water like glass. Fished until about 2 and made the run back. Morning until 2 ish everyday was spot on and was like clock work. Guides came back at same time. Then around 7 most nights you could sneak out for an evenning fish.

Awesome, thanks for taking the time. Indeed seems rightm just arrived in town. It's nice out but kicking up a bit. Hopefully tomorrow am is ok.

Epic day out today after a crappy one fighting the weather yesterday.

Made it out to Taylor and had a nice 94cm Hali, a 20lb Ling and an octopus that was as tall as I am probably and scared the **** out of everyone on the boat.

Wind picked up and we came into Duval where we picked up a nice 80cm Chinook on green hoochie.

Fishing one more morning before driving back tomorrow. Great day for sure.

Heading up to Bear Cove Cottages in Hardy Aug. 9-13 with 2 buddies. Never fished here before. Anybody have any recent reports or suggestions for spots for salmon and bottom fish this time of year? Any good info much appreciated!

Just fished three days out of hardy .

Halibut limits were easy , up off cape caution . Retained fish were all right around the 90cm mark . Also released a 55 inch fish , and a 74 inch ( monster ). All on anchor .

Chinook fishing up at the wall was scratchy at best but the bites produced good fish. 2 - 4 bites every morning but all fish were 23 - 32 lbs

Coho fishing at the wall was alright, but got most our fish jigging offshore while on anchor . One nice 14 lb fish aswell .

Lingcod fishing was also lights out .

Well done!

Fished up at Hardy 8/5 to 8/9 . It was a slayer trip but had to put some time in. Out off Sutil we found big kings 25+ everyday. Just really had to time the currents. Easy possession limit on fish in the 25-30 pound range. Coho all over the place but spotty at times.

Biggest spring was 33

Struggled to find Halibut but main focus was Springs
