16' Arima Sea Explorer
Very good condition boat, purchased from original owner in Tacoma who kept it in covered storage. No bottom paint allows one to easily assess hull condition which shows very well. Arimas are known as the biggest little boat available and this one lives up to that claim. Six foot cuddy cabin with excellent condition cushions, PortaPotty, 14 gallon fresh water tank with pump for wash down or live well, and lots of storage. In-floor fish hold compartments and 5 gallon well compartments in rear of boat for bait or other storage. Stand up top with side and drop curtains. New Horizon VHF radio and Shakespeare antenna, new bilge pump, has a stainless steel steering wheel, compass, stainless steel kicker bracket, dual batteries with switch etc etc.
Due to their design, these boats require modest power in comparison with other manufacturers. This Sea Explorer is equipped with a 60HP Mercury BigFoot oil-injected two stroke with only 555 hours, it performs very well. In this configuration, with 2 men and gear, this boat achieves 27mph GPS-verified.
Arima designs their watercrafts with no structural wood for stringers or transom so you can be confident there are no structural issues lurking where you can't see. Thanks to ingenious design they are strong and lightweight. This is a 1994 hull that as you can see looks excellent, these boats are known for their longevity with many from 1980 and newer still in service today.
Towing is very easy with the included 3000 lb rated 2008 Pacific trailer that comes equipped with guides, a full-size spare tire, and new tires already installed. I have towed the Sea Explorer extensively all over the BC coast this year behind a small SUV with no problems or concerns.
The only reason for selling is that I have bought a new Arima. If you are looking for a quality, proven fish-catcher this is very worthy of your consideration. Take the time to research ArimaOwners.com for a wealth of information that will reinforce the above qualities listed.
Offered at $8800.
